Not long after this Wilma the Southern Right Whale disappeared from Warrnambool in South West Victoria, Australia  and was missing for over 10 years or at least she was not seen. Wilma is recognised by a chip out of her tail. This year in June 2023 she returned with yet another calf to frolic in front of the tourists.

Wilma has had many calves usually every two years but sometimes three. We believe that she is presently about 35-38 years old and therefore will probably stop producing in the next two years. Souther Right Females live to around 80 years old
